Fancy a relaxing break to take you away from the stresses of everyday life, in a hotel that will cater to your every whim? From paradise islands to glamorous cities, let’s take a look at some of the top luxury holiday destinations around the world.
The Maldives
Where in the world can you have a whole beach to yourself or dine in the world’s first all-glass undersea restaurant? In The Maldives of course. Offering powdery-white beaches, swaying palm trees, stunning resorts, award-winning spas and crystal-clear waters, this island chain is the epitome of luxury and a popular honeymoon destination.
Cocoa Island by COMO boasts 33 overwater suites and villas inspired by the wooden dhoni boats used by local fishermen. The accommodations arc out of the island itself, and a series of wooden walkways connect them. Best of all, each room has its own private terrace so you can sit out on the water and enjoy the ocean views. For a truly unique dining experience you can savour contemporary European cuisine at Ithaa Undersea Restaurant at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island. The restaurant sits five metres below the surface of the water, offering 180-degree panoramic views of the vibrant coral gardens surrounding it.

Dubai
Home to some of the world’s most expensive and ostentatious hotels, Dubai is known for being over-the-top. There are so many luxurious places to stay, but if you really want to push the boat out, it has to be the 7-star Burj Al Arab, which is designed to look like a billowing sail reaching over 1,000 feet high. If you can’t afford to stay at the hotel, it’s definitely worth riding the express panoramic elevator to the Skyview bar on the 27th floor.
For the discerning traveller Dubai certainly doesn’t disappoint; you can play golf on some of the world’s finest golf courses, shop-till-you-drop in the luxury Mall of Emirates, travel into the desert on an off-road safari and indulge in a bit of pampering at Cleopatra’s spa. In the evening we suggest you try Gordon Ramsay’s Verre, then head to the Buddha Bar for some adventurous cocktails.
Monaco
With a famous Grand Prix circuit, flash cars, an opulent casino and the most glamorous Royal family in the world, things don’t get much more luxurious than Monaco. Every hotel room in Monaco is fabulous, but the standout hotels are the Hotel de Paris, the Hermitage or the Hotel Metropole.
By day you can book yourself in for a spa treatment, sunbathe on the Plage du Larvotto or pay a visit to the Prince’s Palace, but it’s after dark that the international jet setters come out to play. For the best in French haute cuisine, book a table in Alain Ducasse’s restaurant Le Louis XV at Hotel de Paris, then party with the stars in Monaco’s famous nightclub- Jimmy’z. You also can’t leave Monaco without trying your luck at the tables in the Monte Carlo casino, or at least sipping on a cocktail beneath one of the casino’s stunning chandeliers. One thing’s for sure, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped straight into a Bond movie.
To get to Monaco, fly to Nice from London Heathrow with British Airways for around *£340 return in business class , then a taxi or helicopter transfer to Monaco.
Saint Lucia
One of the most beautiful Caribbean Islands, Saint Lucia has always been a firm favourite for luxury holidays. The island has a lush landscape and many of the high-end hotels are set in hillsides above idyllic beaches, with incredible views of the Pitons peaks. Adventure-lovers can go zip-lining through the rainforest or bathe in the hot pools at Sulphur Springs, while sun worshippers can lounge on the sands of Rodney Bay or enjoy a champagne sunset cruise along the coastline.
The Cliff restaurant at Cap Maison is arguably St Lucia’s best dining location, perched on the edge of a cliff with panoramic views of the sea. Here you are treated to contemporary cuisine incorporating French West Indian influences and fresh produce. Whichever destination you choose, Skyclub can arrange your First and Business Class flights to make sure you start off your holiday in style.
