For the Business Class passengers who are lucky enough to travel with Philippine Airlines on board their aircrafts, there are a number of services and amenities available for them to make use of within the airline’s newest lounge – the Mabuhay Lounge. The airline’s Business Class cabin – Mabuhay Class – provides passengers with a luxury travel experience in the air; in the airport, however, the latest enhancement to the airline’s service – the Mabuhay Lounge – ensures that guests can enjoy a luxury experience before they depart.
As the in-flight luxury services makes its way to the ground, those who have access to the Mabuhay Lounge can expect to have the chance to make use of a library, a dining area equipped with a buffet table, a mini-theatre, restrooms, a reception area and a number of other services. The new contemporary lounge is designed to allow Mabuhay Class passengers the chance to relax in an inviting and warm environment. The Business Class lounge features some of the finest amenities, services and products for Business Class passengers and was designed by FBEYE International which is based in Singapore. The interior design firm which has won numerous awards for their work is the creator of the lounge which measures 520 square metres in total.
The reception area of the lounge is equipped with plenty of storage, allowing passengers to store their coats and bags; the design of the lounge sees sun beams puncture the surroundings, a sight which conjures similarities to the logo for Philippine Airlines.
In the dining area, up to 80 passengers travelling in Mabuhay Class can dine at one time; the buffet table enables guests to select from a range of culinary offerings from around the world. In contrast, the library provides guests with the chance to relax, enjoy the peace and quiet, and read any of the lounge’s wide selection of books. Alternatively, the mini-theatre allows passengers to browse through the available in-flight entertainment and get a head start before they set foot on the aircraft. Within the mini-theatre, guests will feel as if they are in the Business Class seats on-board the aircraft, with the interiors emulating those found inside the cabin and the entertainment inspired by the airline’s ‘Flight of Fancy’ offering available on board as the in-flight entertainment option.
The president of Philippine Airlines, Ramon S. Ang said: “This new Mabuhay Lounge is just one of many improvements we are working on at Philippine Airlines.”
“With this new lounge, we are keeping in step with the world’s leading and best airlines. We offer our valued passengers a pleasant experience, marked by warm and hospitable service, and high-quality amenities and features,” he added.
Philippine Airlines is considered the first airline in Asia and offers a wide network of destinations to its business class passengers to travel to and from. As a result, business class passengers have greater variety and control over their journey, allowing customisation of their travel and a better selection of flight times. The airline remains the only carrier in the Philippines to offer a full-service to and from the country.
Philippine Airlines are currently under the management of the San Miguel Group; since taking over the airline has increased their competitiveness in the aviation market and has continued to raise the standards of the service they provide to their premium passengers around the world. The new lounge is the airline’s way of continuing to extend the service they offer to premium passengers. Through upgrades which complement their existing fleet of aircrafts to the expansion of their network and the targeting of specific needs, the airline is working hard to provide a service which is diverse and luxurious.
