United Airlines have today revealed an exciting new range of amenities, reserved for their premium passengers that pass through Liberty International Airport in Newark. Some of the new services which will be available to both First Class and Business Class travellers will include a brand new area for checking in, an expansion of the exclusive transportation services that are provided by the Mercedes-Benz company, along with four additional security lanes which have been created in order to speed up the check-in process.
The airline opened the new reception lobby – Global Service – yesterday, for their regular customers and frequent flyers at the busy Newark Liberty International Airport – the airline’s hub airport situated in New York. The new lobby will offer passengers a selection of travel services and a personalised check-in process; these services and amenities are only available to customers who are travelling on international, long-haul services that United Airlines operates with its Global First cabin or those passengers who have been invited to be members of the Global Services programme.
The lobby can be accessed by customers via the Premier Access entry point which is located in Terminal C, Door 4. This is situated in the departures area which sits mid-level and is directly adjacent to the security check-in point. The reception area will provide premium passengers with four different full-service check-in points, as well as the newly designed security lanes. Any passengers who are able to use these lanes will also have convenient access to the exclusive United Club which is located on concourse C-3. The new space will feature an updated décor and mirror the designs that are present in the new concept for the United Club that debuted last year.
As well as these additional amenities at the airport, travelling in United Global First also allows passengers to enjoy a range of on-board amenities including an amenity kit that is complimentary and features a selection of skin care products; a complimentary pillow and duvet that passengers can make use of throughout the flight when they wish to sleep. In addition, a turn-down service can be requested, with the added benefit of a sleeping cushion to further invite comfort when sleeping. In general, the innovative design and construction of the United First cabin is centred on creating a comfortable environment and atmosphere whilst also delivering luxury; each of the seats has the ability to recline and transform into a fully flatbed which measures over 6 foot 6 inches.
The in-flight meals maintain the high-quality standard that United Airlines are now renowned for providing their passengers; the printed menu explains each of the dishes that are on offer, and guests begin their dining experience before they even depart with a specially created beverage service. Menus feature a selection of appetisers, entrees, local cuisine, salads and desserts; some of the signature desserts include ice cream sundaes, as well as fresh fruit, port, cheeses and a number of after-dinner liqueurs. During the long-haul international flights, guests can take advantage of a mid-flight snack. To accompany this, a variety of cocktails, international wines, beer and freshly brewed coffee are available.
The flight-connection service that is provided by Mercedes will also be receiving an expansion to provide more passengers with the opportunity to be chauffeured. The service is currently offered to Houston and Chicago and will be expanding to Newark Liberty International Airport as of today. United will provide the chauffeur service to customers travelling in United Global First and to some members of the Global Services scheme. The service is provided to passengers who may have quick connections to catch, or a large distance to travel.
