Business Class Flights to Punta Cana
Getting to and from the airport
The majority of visitors arriving on business class flights to Punta Cana will be staying at one of the regions many resorts, who will usually be happy to arrange an airport pickup in advance. If you are expecting to be met at the airport, simply turn right after leaving the customs area, and you will find a representative from your hotel waiting for you. Do not be tempted to try and find the correct transfer bus by yourself as they do not display their destination.
Independent travellers have the choice of taking either a taxi or the much cheaper public bus to their final destination. Taxis are readily available, although there is a big problem with unlicensed drivers which at best result in being significantly overcharged, or at worst can end in a potentially dangerous situation. Licenced taxi drivers generally display their licences upon their person, wear official uniforms and have quality, air-conditioned vehicles. Where possible, book a taxi in advance through a reputable company, who will give you the details of your driver and their car to avoid any confusion. A cheaper, although slower and less comfortable option is to take a public bus, known as a gua gua. A regular service links the airport to the bus stand at Veron, from where you can transfer to other services across the region. Beware, however, that the last gua gua departs the airport at around 6pm.
