Austrian Airlines has re-opened its Senator Lounge at Vienna Airport with a new design concept focusing on the themes of Austria and “individuality”. A total of 5 lounges will be renovated: the airline has already renovated two Business Class lounges and will revamp one more Business Class lounge, as well as a second Senator Lounge.
The Senator Lounges feature real Austrian beech trees, which are kept in a closed area and preserved using a special preservation technique.
Other features include customised furniture from Austria and a new textile design concept with individually designed carpets and curtains. To add a splash of colour, the walls are adorned with selected cutouts from pictures created by Austrian artists such as Gustav Klimt.
The interior is contemporary and minimalistic looking but with bold, bright colours and mountain shaped cushions on the sofas.
Last year a total of 670,000 visitors used Austrian’s lounges at Vienna airport, with the various relaxation zones and the culinary offering provided by Do&Co proving to be very popular.
