British Airways is launching direct flights to the Seychelles next year and is set to become the only airline offering a non-stop service from the UK.
Known for being one of the most idyllic and exotic holiday destinations in the world, The Seychelles is an attractive destination for sun seekers, holidaymakers and honeymooners.
From March 24th 2018, BA will offer direct flights from Heathrow Terminal 5, utilising an ultra-modern 787-Dreamliner. The route will be a seasonal service, with flights operating twice per week from March to October.
Currently leisure travellers wishing to visit these tropical islands have to connect in the Middle East with a journey time of over 13 hours. The new direct flights will significantly reduce travel time and make the journey much easier.
The flight timetables have been carefully chosen to allow travellers to maximise their time on the islands by booking longer 10 night trips and extended breaks. Outbound flights will depart Heathrow on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 17:50pm, touching down in Seychelles International Airport at 7:00am. The return flight will depart from the Seychelles on Thursdays and Sundays at 9:00am, landing in Heathrow at 16:20pm.
Sean Doyle, British Airways’ director of network and alliances, said: “The Seychelles is one of the most beautiful places on earth and we’re delighted to be adding this collection of islands to our extensive route network. Customers can now get into ‘holiday mode’ even earlier with British Airways’ direct flights from London taking 10 hours, instead of over 13 hours with a connection in the Middle East. As one of the leading luxury holiday destinations, the Seychelles offers customers a wide range of accommodation and activities in stunning natural surroundings.”
British Airways has launched more than 30 new routes across the globe this year including direct flights to New Orleans from Heathrow and Fort Lauderdale and Oakland from Gatwick. The airline has also recently invested in its Business Class product, introducing improved catering and sleep in Club World.
Return fares start from £2499 in Club World and from £3499 for First, and are available to book now through SkyClub on 0207 255 1234
