Emirates has unveiled a new dedicated lounge at Cairo International Airport, offering seating for 152 First and Business Class customers. The $3.6 million lounge caters to three daily flights and is located at Departure Terminal 2, Level 2, above the secondary security check & Duty Free area.
Covering an area of 880 square metres, the Emirates Lounge has a new contemporary and fresh design, with LED TVs, comfortable leather armchairs, a choice of formal and relaxed seating, bespoke artwork, and separate male and female prayer rooms. Passengers can enjoy meals in a dedicated dining area, which offers a hot and cold gourmet buffet, local and international dishes and an extensive beverage service.
Customers who need to freshen up before their flight can use the lounge’s shower facilities, which are stocked with a range of luxury spa products from award-winning Irish brand VOYA. This skincare line includes hair & body wash, conditioner, hand cream and hand wash.
Business travellers can send last minute emails in the business centre, which is equipped with state of the art touch screen workstations, or they can bring their own laptops and use the complimentary Wi-Fi service available throughout the lounge.
Mohammed Mattar – Divisional Senior Vice President, Emirates Airport Services, said at the ribbon-cutting ceremony:
“Cairo is our first destination in North Africa with an Emirates Lounge – and it underscores our relentless efforts to enhance the travel experience that we offer to customers not online in the air, but on the ground. We are committed to the highest standards of quality in every aspect of our business and the new Emirates Lounge is a testament to that. ”
“We hope to contribute to the country’s tourism industry in a meaningful way and attract both international customers as well as discerning Egyptian travellers with our premium service. Egypt is a very important market for Emirates, and this dedicated lounge demonstrates our ongoing efforts to provide the best possible airport experience.”
The lounge is Emirates’s 42nd worldwide, and is open to Emirates First Class and Business Class customers as well as Platinum and Gold members of Skywards, the airline’s loyalty programme. Emirates currently operates three daily flights between Cairo and Dubai with its popular Boeing 777 aircraft.
Can I purchase a day pass to the club?
Does my American Express Platinum Card provide me entrance?
No, day passes are not available. The lounge is now open to Emirates First Class and Business Class customers as well as Platinum and Gold members of Skywards, the airline’s loyalty programme. American Express usually offers lounge access with Lounge Club, so we would recommend checking their website to see what lounges are available.
