Emirates has announced that from 1st December 2016 it will deploy the A380 superjumbo on its Dubai-Moscow route. The airline will upgrade one of two daily flights to the Russian capital, meaning passengers will have the chance to experience the airline’s First Class Private Suites and fully-flat mini-pods in Business Class.
Emirates has decided to operate its iconic A380 to Moscow due to increasing demand, with some 400,000 passengers having travelled on the route within the last year. Overall, Emirates has flown 3.5 million passengers on this route since it launched in 2003. With an additional 426 seats in Economy, the A380 will help serve the growing demand from both leisure and business travellers.
Passengers will be able to fly the A380 on flights EK131/132, while EK133/EK134 will continue to be operated by a Boeing 777-300ER. EK131 departs from Dubai at 17:30hrs and arrives in Moscow at 21:55hrs. EK132 departs from Moscow at 23:55hrs arriving in Dubai at 06:20hrs next day.
The three-class A380-800 features 14 Private Suites in First Class and 76 fully flat-bed mini-pods in Business Class on the upper deck. First Class passengers can take a shower at 40,000 feet in the Onboard Shower Spas, while travellers in both First and Business Class can socialise over drinks and canapes in the onboard lounge.
Passengers in all cabins can enjoy Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment system, ‘ice’, which offers more than 2,500 channels of films, TV programmes, music and podcasts. They can also stay connected with family, friends and colleagues using the free onboard Wi-Fi.
On the ground, First and Business Class passengers receive a complimentary chauffeur driven service to and from the airport and have access to Emirates’ exclusive airport lounges. As with all Emirates flights, passengers benefit from a generous baggage allowance of 30kg in Economy Class, 40kg in Business Class and 50kg in First Class.
In March this year, Emirates and S7 Airlines, who are based at Domodedovo Airport (Moscow), announced an extended codeshare agreement on more than 30 Russian routes increasing connectivity and benefits for customers across Russia. The extended partnership also created a direct link under Emirates’ code between St. Petersburg and Moscow, allowing visitors to experience Russia’s two largest cities with a single travel itinerary.
