Love taking your pyjamas home after a First Class flight? Etihad has launched a new collection of loungewear for First Class and “The Residence” customers, made from anti-bacterial and hypoallergenic Modal textile.
The airline partnered with Emerati brand A Friend of Mine by Xpoze to create new loungewear for men and women that is crease-resistant and breathable, free of unnecessary stitching. The designs are inspired by traditional Emirati dress and the earthy colour has been chosen to suit all skin tones. Each piece can be mixed and matched with everyday clothing items so that guests can re-use the loungewear after the flight and incorporate it into their daily lives.
Linda Celestino, Etihad Airways vice president of Guest Experience and Delivery, said:
“The designs follow the same attention to detail and design principles held by Etihad. The creations are high-quality, wearable on your flight for relaxing or sleeping, yet simple and stylish enough to be matched with other items of clothing for everyday wear.”
Founded by Rawdha Al Shaffar, Buthaina Al Marri and Fatma Al Muddhareb, A Friend of Mine by Xpoze won a competition last year to find local talent to create the new designs. The final product was unveiled at an event a The Louvre in Abu Dhabi called “A Night at the Museum”.
While many airlines offer complimentary pyjamas in First Class and even Business Class, Etihad’s new range is certainly setting the trend for in-flight loungewear. The fabric looks silky soft and won’t wrinkle during the flight, plus the belted dressing gown adds a touch of glamour.
