Finnair has announced some new routes for the 2018/2019 winter season. The airline will be adding a new route to Lyon in France, as well as adding additional frequencies to popular long-haul destinations.
From December 11th 2018, Finnair will operate two weekly flights to Lyon from its Helsinki hub with an E90 aircraft. Departing on Tuesdays and Saturdays, the flights will offer smooth connections to Finnair’s Asian network.
Finnair is set to receive its 12th A350 aircraft in 2018 and will be providing a boost to many destinations throughout Asia. Flights to Osaka will become daily during the winter, with two additional frequencies on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Two additional flights will also be added to the Hong Kong route on Fridays and Sundays, increasing the total number of flights per week to 12.
Finnair’s route to Delhi will become a daily service with the addition of a flight on Wednesdays. Meanwhile a fourth weekly frequency will also be added to the Phuket route on Mondays starting December 10th.
The airline has also announced that the Miami route will be modified to better coincide with its other North American departures and connecting flights to Europe.
Short-haul services to Europe will also see an increase in frequencies – an additional weekly frequency will be added to Malaga, Funchal and Tenerife, while two weekly frequencies will be added to both Rome and Gran Canaria. A daily flight will also be added on weekdays to Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland.
Finnair will also be extending the operating period on some of its existing routes. Malta and Antalya will now continue operating from the 2018 summer season until December 9. The routes to Edinburgh and Alanya-Gazipasa will also be extended for the winter, making them new year-round destinations for Finnair.
