Like the idea of catching some sun while waiting for your flight? Frankfurt Airport has opened a new €1.5 million open air roof terrace that provides passengers with an impressive view of the runway.
Situated in the transit zone of Terminal 1, the 138 square-metre terrace provides a relaxing place where passengers can catch a breath of fresh air before departure. Aviation enthusiasts can also watch everything that happens at Germany’s busiest airport, including ground handling, takeoffs and landings.
Comfortable seating areas are available and there’s also an electronic information point that provides information about what’s going on on the airfield. A monitor displays the weather report for the next few days, delivered by the German Weather Service.
The roof terrace is open daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. and can be accessed by all passengers in the non-Schengen zone.
