Lufthansa has opened a new lounge at Milan Malpensa airport featuring Italian delights such as Aperitivo, fresh pasta and espresso from an expert barista.
The new Lufthansa lounge in Terminal 1A represents a new design concept that will be used for other Lufthansa lounges in the future. The airline will give new or renovated lounges a “local touch”, introducing influences from the local culture.
Lufthansa says that “lounge guests should feel as if they are at home in their living room”, and so lounges will be designed with a comfortable and feel-good ambience. The 550 square metre lounge in Milan features 117 seats and huge floor-to-ceiling windows that provide a fantastic view of the airport apron.
The space has been divided up with individual seating arrangements and relaxation possibilities, featuring high-quality furniture and design classics from Swiss furniture company Vitra. The exclusive sanitary area was designed and equipped by Villeroy & Boch.
A highlight of the lounge is the front cooking station, where guests will be provided with freshly prepared meals “made in Italy”. There’s also a central bar, where a barista serves guests with freshly brewed coffee specialties and Italian aperitifs such as Campari, Martini and Aperol, which are served with finger food.
There is also a Coffee Corner in the entrance area of the Lufthansa lounge for guests who need a quick pick-me-up but do not have a lot of time to spend in the lounge before boarding.
