Lufthansa has launched three new long-haul destinations from Frankfurt in the space of a week, which started in the first week of December – a mean feat even for an airline like Lufthansa.
Travellers can now take advantage of flying from Frankfurt with Europe’s largest airline directly to three popular leisure destinations; Cancun in Mexico, Malé in the Maldives, and Mauritius.
The expansion commenced when flight LH514 took off from Frankfurt bound for Cancun on the 8th December. It was continued the next day, when flight LH704 departed for Malé. Rounding it off was flight LH708 to Mauritius which followed on the 10th of December.
These top destinations were added to Lufthansa’s network as tailor-made flights designed for private travellers. So far, it seems the investment has paid off as the inaugural flights have been well received with advanced reservations for the holiday season looking promising.
The Airbus A340-300, equipped with a Flynet broadband connection, has been deployed to serve the new routes. On board is a three-class system with 18 seats in Business Class, 19 seats in Premium Economy, and 298 seats in Economy.
Along with holiday destinations Cancun, Malé and Mauritius, Lufthansa has also recently added to its network in the last few months Tampa, Florida and Nairobi, Kenya which were added in late September and October respectively.
The Star Alliance member airline will also launch inaugural flights to Panama City, Panama in March 2016.
