Qatar Airways has announced aggressive expansion plans and a grand total of 16 new destinations at ITB Berlin, the world’s largest international travel fair.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker held a press conference to announce the news, telling members of the press that Qatar Airways will be the first Gulf carrier to begin direct service to Luxembourg.
UK travellers will also be excited to learn that the airline will be returning to London Gatwick, meaning Londoners now have another airport option in addition to Heathrow. This will be especially good news to passengers living in the southeast of the UK who find Gatwick more convenient.
Other exciting new destinations to be launched by the airline include Cardiff, United Kingdom; Lisbon, Portugal; Tallinn, Estonia; Valletta, Malta; Cebu and Davao, Philippines; Langkawi, Malaysia; Da Nang, Vietnam; Bodrum, Antalya and Hatay, Turkey; Mykonos and Thessaloniki, Greece; and Málaga, Spain.
Services to Warsaw, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Prague and Kyiv will increase to a double daily frequency, while services to Madrid, Barcelona and the Maldives will increase to triple daily.

On the same day, the award-winning airline also unveiled a brand new interactive exhibition stand.
The brand-new exhibition stand was designed with a concept of “augmented reality” featuring a full 360 digital screen wrapping around the entire stand showcasing the signature Qatar Airways five-star journey. The stand also offers in-flight entertainment experiences allowing guests to place themselves virtually into one of the airline’s Business Class seats, complemented by a full-size display of the airline’s award-winning ‘Qsuite.’
