Passengers flying in and out of Boston can now experience the Airbus A350 with Qatar Airways. With non-stop A350 flights between Logan International Airport and Hamad International Airport in Doha, customers benefit from revolutionary technologies designed to combat jet lag, such as a high precision air management system that optimises humidity and filters the air every few minutes, along with dynamic LED lighting that managers passenger melatonin levels.
Qatar Airways was the global launch customer of the A350 and the first to bring the A350 to the United States in December 2015, when it began operating the aircraft between Doha and Philadelphia. Boston is the airline’s second A350 destination in the US.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker said: “We are pleased to be expanding services on the East Coast of the United States and providing our passengers with a direct link between Doha and the city of Boston. Boston makes a great new addition to our network and we are pleased to add this historic community to our expanding route map of more than 150 destinations around the world”.
“The Airbus A350 is our latest product in the fleet and we are glad to provide our passengers with the latest next-generation aircraft when travelling long-haul with Qatar Airways.”
“We are always looking for new ways to raise the standards of global aviation in the sky, but we are also committed to investing in the communities we serve, on the ground. This new route will act as a bridge for trade, commerce and cultural exchange with the city of Boston.”
In Business Class there are 36 seats arranged in a 1-2-1 layout, with direct aisle access at every seat. The cabin features electromechanical window shades that go from transparent to opaque and the overhead storage bins have enough space for two-roller bags per person, providing plenty of space for belongings.
Business Class customers can dine-on-demand and receive Giorgio Armani amenity kits, as well as pyjamas to wear during the flight. They can also watch entertainment on the latest 4th generation IFE systems boasting high definition 17″ Thales Avant touch screens and 3D audio with a high-fidelity surround-sound effect.
Boston is Qatar Airways’ ninth destination in the United States, as the airline continues to expand service to the region. On 1 January 2016, the airline launched its first route to the West Coast, with a daily direct service to Los Angeles. The airline will also add a second daily, non-stop flight to New York-JFK on 1 April and will commence service to Atlanta on 1 June 2016.
