Royal Brunei Airlines has announced it will be launching non-stop flights between London and Brunei from 28th October 2017. The direct flight will be operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, reducing the overall journey time by 3.5 hours to/from London.
Up until now Royal Brunei has operated flights from London to Brunei via Dubai but with the introduction of daily non-stop flights, the airline plans to axe its Dubai-London-Dubai route.
Royal Brunei will however continue to provide a link between the GCC and Dubai by offering a four times weekly Brunei-Dubai-Brunei service from 29th October 2018.
The introduction of RB’s non-stop flight to London Heathrow is a significant milestone as it will be the first time Brunei and England are connected by a direct air link.
Karam Chand, RB Chief Executive Officer, said:
“With the strong cultural, economic and political ties between the two Countries, it is only natural to provide the seamless non-stop connection. The through flight via Dubai has served us well however with the demand for more direct routing from our guests, it becomes an important commercial imperative to provide that.”
Royal Brunei’s Dreamliner accommodates 18 people in Business Class and offers plenty of space for passengers to sit back and relax. Each seat reclines into a fully flat bed and is quipped with a 15.4-inch touchscreen LCD monitor as well as an in-seat power connector. Guests will benefit from the modern features of B787 Dreamliner such as lower cabin altitude, less noise, larger windows and generous overhead storage.
Flight BI004 will depart London at 17:05, touching down in Brunei at 14:40 the following day. The return flight BI003 will depart Brunei at 00:15, landing in the UK at 06:50.
