Singapore Airlines has announced it is now providing free Internet to First Class and Business Class passengers, as well as elite PPC Club frequent flyers.
Just don’t get too excited. Although SIA is offering a free Internet allowance for premium customers, it has been capped, so passengers can’t spend the entire flight streaming movies or browsing to their heart’s content. Passengers in First Class and A380 suites can use 100MB of data, while Business Class travellers and PPS Club membership holders get up to 30MB free.
The offer applies to all SQ aircraft fitted with inflight Internet, including its flagship Airbus A380s and long-range Boeing 777-300ER jets along with the newer Airbus A350s. To access the free Wi-Fi, passengers just need to enter their surname and seat number into the Complimentary Access section of the inflight Internet portal. The exact data allowance varies depending on aircraft type and can be viewed via the onboard portal upon successful connection.
Once passengers have used the available megabytes, they must revert back to a paid plan – which can be based on either how much data you use or how long you stay online.
