Virgin Atlantic has announced that it will cancel flights between London Heathrow and Dubai from 31st March 2019. Passengers still have 9 months to enjoy Virgin Atlantic’s daily flights between the two cities and bookings will still be available until the last flight.
So if you’re planning on flying Business Class to Dubai, you still have some time to enjoy Virgin Atlantic’s Upper Class.
The airline says it conducted a thorough review of its network and made the decision to cancel its Dubai flights “due to a combination of external factors which mean it is no longer economically viable.”
Virgin Atlantic has increasingly focused its energies on North American and Caribbean routes, although the carrier also offers flights to some worldwide destinations such as Delhi, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Lagos and Johannesburg.
Shai Weiss, Chief Commercial Officer for Virgin Atlantic, said: “It‘s never an easy decision to withdraw a route, and we’d like to thank our customers and dedicated team in Dubai for their loyalty over the last 12 years. We’ll continue to offer daily flights between Dubai and London Heathrow until 31 March 2019, and will be sad to say goodbye to this fantastic city.”
Virgin Holidays will continue to provide holiday packages to Dubai. It offers an extensive range of hotels throughout the region and has recently launched the ‘v-hub’ arrival lounge at the Atlantis Dubai, allowing customers to truly kick off their holiday in style.
