Virgin Australia has announced it will launch a completely redesigned Premium Economy cabin on-board its Boeing 777 fleet from late 2015, featuring seats with more legroom than on any other Australian airline.
The intimate cabin will have 24 seats offering a seat pitch of 41 inches, equipped with power points and a USB outlet for charging electronic devices. Premium Economy guests will also be treated to a plated meal service inspired by Business Class, accompanied by a selection of wines from the Business Class cellar. There will be gourmet hot drink options, including espresso style coffee, as well as a Premium Larder so passengers can help themselves to food and drinks throughout the flight.
Passengers flying in this cabin will be given amenity kits featuring luxurious blankets, pillows and REN Skincare products and they’ll benefit from dedicated check-in, Priority Boarding and Priority Baggage (up to 64kg of baggage).
Virgin Australia Chief Customer Officer Mark Hassell said: “We understand that Premium Economy guests want to arrive at their destination feeling refreshed and taken care of. We have therefore designed a more spacious and comfortable Premium Economy cabin and product, with a service that many other airlines reserve for their Business Class.”
He added; “We are confident that this will be the best Premium Economy experience flying from Australia across the Pacific.”
The Premium Economy cabin itself will be more spacious and comfortable overall, with more legroom and new cushioned seating to make the journey more restful.
Passengers will be able to choose different variations of their meals, with different garnishes, allowing for a more exclusive and tailored service. The new Premium Larder exclusively for Premium Economy guests will be replenished throughout the flight, stocked with an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, light meal options and snacks.
To complete the experience, guests can expect a high standard of hospitality from award-winning cabin crew trained in Premium Service. In June 2015, Virgin Australia was awarded Best Airline Staff Service in Australia/Pacific at the Skytrax World Airline Awards for the fifth consecutive year.
This new and improved 777 Premium Economy will be rolled out alongside the airline’s state-of-the-art new Business Class suites later this year.
